Sunwayfoto PCL-R3 Overview
The Custom L-Bracket for Canon EOS R3 from Sunwayfoto is custom-fitted to the canon EOS R3 mirrorless camera body. Precision CNC-machined from a single billet of aircraft-grade T6061 aluminum alloy, it features Arca-type dovetails on each axis, allowing it to quickly mount onto a compatible tripod head or clamp in either portrait or landscape orientation. The open design allows full rotation of the LCD screen, plus full access to the camera battery and cable ports.
The bracket base incorporates raised lips on each side to stop the body from twisting or shifting, plus a silicone traction pad to help minimize movement and prevent marring the camera finish. In addition to the 1/4″-20 tripod mount, there are five 1/4″-20 and two 3/8″-16 threaded sockets for adding external microphones, lights, and other accessories to build a custom camera rig.

Cannot tether when mounted vertically

The whole purpose of an L bracket for me is to be able to mount for both horizontal and vertical shooting. Most of my work is tethered so the ability to tether regardless of orientation is very important. When mounted vertically you cannot insert the tether cable, even when you’ve shifted the bracket across to allow more room between the ports and the bracket. Unfortunately this has been a waste of money for me and I won’t be using the bracket. Some pros. If you don’t need to tether then the bracket is fine. The metals are just strong enough so it doesn’t flex and the raised sides of the base minimise rotation (though sometimes it still rotates slightly).
