Grab film your camera and lace up your walking shoes you’re invited to join Will Prentice of PHOTONews Canada and Captura Photography+Imaging for a dynamic, hands-on Street Photography Seminar and Photo Walk, proudly sponsored by Ilford Photo and Harman Technology.
This exciting event is your opportunity to learn the art of capturing compelling candid moments, urban details and the poetry of everyday life right from the street. Whether you’re a seasoned film shooter or just curious about the genre, this experience will open your eyes to new ways of seeing.
Participants will have the choice of a complimentary 36 exposure roll of Ilford Photo HP5 black and white film or Harman Tech Phoenix colour film. A film camera isnt mandatory but is highly recommended.
What to Expect
Will Prentice will kick off the seminar with a talk onwhat he looks for in street photography from light, contrast and character to timing, geometry and that fleeting decisive moment. He’ll share tips on how to blend into your environment, compose on the fly and approach strangers (or avoid them altogether) with confidence and respect.
Street photography isnt about getting lucky, says Will. Its about being ready, being present and learning to recognize the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Following the seminar, you’ll head out for aguided photo walk, where youll put ideas into practice while exploring a lively urban landscape alongside fellow photography enthusiasts.
