Really Right Stuff RRS-9000047 Overview
The Base Plate for Nikon Z9 from Really Right Stuff is designed with an anti-twist registration pin to keep the camera from twisting while mounted on the plate. Once the dovetail plate is on, quick release functionality has been added to the camera. Also, this base plate is compatible with all RRS clamps and most other Arca-type compatible heads.
The CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum plate maintains complete access to the battery door and has an option for to mount an available L-component that will fit the plate’s modular design and make a custom-fit L-plate. The base plate has a durable Type II black anodized finish and a laser-engraved center mark on the back to align it on a tripod head. It features a 1/4″-20 tripod mounting socket and has a magnetic storage pocket for the included Allen wrench.

I decided to keep my Z9 weight down by using a base plate instead of L-bracket, and this RRS plate is exactly what I was looking for. It is well engineered and as high quality as all their products. Recommended!

RRS not up to standard

Received my RRS plate for the Nikon Z9 & was surprised that it is not up to RRS design standards. The machine work was excellent, but the design did not meet their typical high quality design excellence. The curve of the plate at the front, did not match the curve of the Z9 body leaving a small gap between plate & body. Also, the small flange at the front is too short and barely comes up past the curve of the body. This should have been taken care of in the prototype stage. Looks like it was rushed into production
