Be prepared for nearly any kind of shooting location with the compact Magnus FT-P30A Flexible Smartphone Tripod with Dual Flexible Arms. Whether you’re shooting a makeup tutorial indoors or livestreaming outside, the FT-P30A’s flexibility gives you a wide range of mounting options. You can use the flexible legs to compensate for uneven surfaces or wrap them around makeshift mounts, like a tree branch or pole. Each leg sports rubber feet to grip firm surfaces more securely that can be removed to expose metal spikes, which can dig into softer ground to maintain stability. When the legs are folded together, this desktop tripod becomes a convenient hand grip for mobile photos or video.

The included ballhead has a 1/4″-20 mount for use with a point-and-shoot camera or action cam, and a 90 notch for quickly changing between landscape and portrait orientations. Fold the top up and the mount becomes a spring-loaded clamp that holds a smartphone up to 3.5″ wide. The addition of a cold shoe mount on the phone clamp and two additional flexible accessory arms, each with 1/4″-20 studs, let you improve your production quality by adding accessories to your setup, such as an external microphone or LED lights.

Flexible Arms

The two included flexible arms connect to the tripod body to increase the number of optional accessories you can add. Simply slide each arm into its slot and tighten the knob to secure it in place. Each arm ends in a standard 1/4″-20 stud and is flexible, just like the tripod legs. This flexibility allows you to position optional LED lights or an external microphone at different angles to properly light a scene or to record audio more clearly.

Portrait Video & Video Chats

The 90 ballhead can be locked in place using an integrated knob, with your device in either widescreen orientation, portrait orientation, or anywhere in between. Very versatile, love the extra arms.

This is super cool. And super versatile. It can be used like a normal flexible tripod. But the added 2 arms are a game changer, enabling a ton of options to attach all kinds of things to it. The 2 additional arms are attached by a cold shoe mount. This means you can attach accessories straight to the mount or to the end of the arm. That’s a nice touch. The mount can be used for a smartphone, or folded down and used like a normal 1/4 mount for a small camera. When used with a smartphone, you get an extra cold shoe mount on top to add even more mounting options. I like that you can remove the feet to reveal spikes underneath, so it is good for a variety of environments. The rubber feet are good for a table top, and the spikes would be great for outdoors like grass or dirt. The flexibility of all the arms and legs felt really good to me, with just enough resistance so they don’t feel weak, but also doesn’t make you work too hard to get in the position you want. I attached it to a light stand, and it felt very secure and I was able to do it easily and quickly. It’s also not too heavy. I could see me using it handheld with accessories attached and not struggling too bad with the weight. Overall, I think this is a really versatile and handy, small flexible tripod. It feels well made and will be a nice addition to my kit. [ I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]
