KIPON Iberit 35mm f/2.4 Overview
Designed as a lightweight and compact, yet durable and reliable lens, the red Iberit 35mm f/2.4 from Kipon is a general wide-angle prime designed for Leica M-mount rangefinder cameras. It utilizes a simple six elements in six groups optical design to produce a classic image quality, which is benefitted by a smooth manual focusing action for working with subjects as close as 2.3′ away. An all-metal construction realizes a rugged physical design, and the lens barrel’s exterior also incorporates both depth of field and focusing distance scales for more accurate focus control.
Wide-angle prime is designed for full-frame and 35mm Leica M-mount rangefinder cameras. Simple six elements, six groups optical design provides a classic image quality that is also well-suited to use on current image sensors. Manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 2.3′ away. Engraved focus distance and depth of field scales benefit working with pre-focus and hyperfocal focusing techniques. Six diaphragm blades contribute to a pleasing bokeh quality. All-metal construction realizes a physically durable design that is also lightweight and easy to handle. Focus ring has a 90 throw, and the aperture ring has a 76 angle of rotation. Exterior diameter of 58mm is consistent throughout the entire Iberit lens lineup.

Great flare resistance, good optics, oily aperture blades

I bought a new one elsewhere (not ) and it was delivered with oily aperture blades. Upon doing some research this is a common issue with this lens. The problem of oily blades is the oil can then evaporate and haze the inside of the lens. It was a real shame as optically the lens was great, really good against flare, handled great, looked great on camera. But oily blades.
