The lens also sports a weather-sealed design to benefit working in harsh climates. Optically, this lens features a pair of extra-low dispersion elements and one aspherical element to correct a variety of aberrations and realize a high degree of sharpness and clarity. Additionally, a nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when working with selective focus techniques.
Versatile telephoto zoom is designed for APS-C-format FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras and offers a 107-457mm equivalent focal length range. Two extra-low dispersion elements are used to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range. One aspherical element controls distortion and spherical aberrations in order to achieve high sharpness, accurate rendering, and low distortion. A 5.5 stop-effective optical image stabilization system Minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting in low-light conditions and with slower shutter speeds. Linear autofocus motor delivers quick, quiet, and smooth autofocus performance that is especially beneficial when working with fast-moving subjects. Minimum focusing distance of 2.7′ and a 1:3 maximum magnification ratio suit working with close-up subjects. A focus limiter switch on the side of the lens barrel lets you constrain the focusing range to either the full range of 2.7′ to infinity, or from 16.4′ to infinity for faster focusing performance with distant subjects. Weather-sealed lens body protects against dust and moisture, and to enable worry-free use in inclement conditions and freezing temperatures as low as 14F. Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contribute to a pleasing out-of-focus quality to benefit the use of selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques. Compatible with optional XF 1.4x TC WR and XF 2x TC WR teleconverters. UPC: 074101202854

Great lightweight lens, but I don’t understand why it took so long to get.
Good all in one

Great travel lens. Pretty good quality. Good center sharpness.
An excellent zoom lens

It doesn’t have the IQ of the 100-400, but it’s light and has excellent IQ. A keeper for me.
Excellent Sharp Lens
By Joseph Rated 5 out of 5 Date: 2021-09-30
As a longtime user of the Fuji 55-200 lens (which is excellent) I was pleasantly surprised with the sharpness of the 70-300mm lens. I have since sold my 55-200 lens. The 70-300mm is a keeper.
Travel bird lens

I have a 100-400 (which is outstanding and I’ll never sell) and is my home birding lens. But when I travel, unless a dedicated birding trip, I wanted to trade off some weight and size. With this and the 16-80, I have a two lens kit that can handle anything, including semi macro work. The TC 1.4 and a monopod make for a very friendly, excellent quality kit. So far, the size is easy, image quality excellent. This replaced the 55-200 for me and the extra reach with little size penalty is worth it to me. Recommend highly.
The perfect range for a multi-use zoom.

At this price point for this much range, I have not found a better more versatile lens. Image quality is as expected with a native Fujii lens. I haven’t had a picture that came out badly because of the lens.
70-300 vs 100-400
By Leslie Rated 4 out of 5 Date: 2022-01-29
I took this new lens out for a test run and was fairly impressed with it. I previously owned a 100-400 and no doubt the 100-400 is sharper. But, the portability of the 70-300 and using a 1.4 extender was impressive enough so that I don’t regret getting a zoom with the reach of this new lens and giving up the heft of the much heavier lens. I would probably have rated it 5 stars had I not owned the 100-400. But this is an easy lens to carry and hand hold and a great lens for an older photographer like me!
Nice walk around lens.

I use this lens on hikes instead of the bigger 100-400 lens. Very impressed with image quality. Reasonably light. My only complaint has been the lens hood has fallen off a few times.
