Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED V… Overview
Nikon Adds Bluetooth to D3400 DSLR and Introduces AF-P Zoom Lenses
By Photo’s Jorge Rojas
An evolution of the tested DX telephoto zoom, the AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR from Nikon is a 105-450mm-equivalent lens featuring an updated focusing mechanism along with a compact form factor. One extra-low dispersion element is used in the optical design to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range in order to maintain image clarity. A Super Integrated Coating has also been applied to minimize reflections and flare for greater contrast. Suiting both photo and video applications, the AF-P designation indicates the use of a pulse stepping motor that offers notably quiet, fast, and precise autofocus performance. Additionally, Vibration Reduction image stabilization compensates for up to four stops of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting.
Telephoto zoom is designed for DX-format Nikon F-mount cameras and provides a 105-450mm equivalent focal length. One extra-low dispersion element greatly reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater clarity and color accuracy. A Super Integrated Coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress internal reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions. AF-P pulse motor uses stepping motors to deliver impressively smooth, quiet, and fast autofocus performance that is well-suited to both stills and video applications. VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by four stops to benefit shooting handheld in difficult lighting conditions. Rounded seven-blade diaphragm promotes a pleasing out of focus quality that benefits the use of shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques. Autofocus and VR switches have been removed from the lens design for a sleek profile; these operations are now accessible in compatible cameras’ menu systems. Compatible Cameras

FANTASTIC, ULTRA-SHARP LENS AT A BARGAIN PRICE
By Robert Rated 5 out of 5 Date: 2022-09-08
Try as you may, you won’t find a better lens in this range, at any price. Inexpensive, yes; mostly plastic housing, yes……..but the glass is pure Nikon at it’s best. Images are sharp, crisp, and display no traces of diffraction. The “P” series of lenses are all superb, and this one leads the parade. Buy one – you’ll be glad you did!
Great lens, performs excellently

This is a very solid telephoto lens. Coming from a much older 70-300mm lens, the vibration reduction in this lens really blew me away! Produces very sharp images with minimal blur, very helpful when tracking moving objects. The autofocus is also very fast and responsive.
Naturally, now I want more millimeters

This lens is delivering good results, but the only thing that’s going to give me that next 200mm is a 500mm. For the money, though, it works beautifully. The AF is almost inaudible, and it is quite accurate within the limitations inherent in all AF lenses, but it’s easy to override the AF if you need to do so. It’s giving good results at both extremes of its range. Check compatibility before you buy. It works with my D3300 (with the latest firmware updates). Check Nikon for the definitive compatibility list. -Joseph
Fantastic!

We got this lens right before we went to the beach. We were able to get some amazing photos! My 14 year old loves photography and is learning more and more. She thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures with this lens and coming home to view and edit them. She said the pictures turned out even better than she thought!
Awesome and affordable lens!

I’ve only owned this lens for a short time but I’m more than impressed with the quality, smoothness of zoom, tack sharpness and etc. I’m using this lens on Nikon D3300 and D7200’s – both with old firmware, and have had virtually no issues with some of the problems stated in some Nikon forums. I would recommend this lens for anyone wanting to expand their photographic capabilities without breaking the bank. Of the more than 300 images I have taken so far, I’ve attached two of the backyard flower photos shot, handheld, at 300mm (full zoom extension).
Great Lens at a Reasonable Price

This lens provides great zoom capabilities without distortion. The autofocus is fast and accurate, and the vibration reduction is great. I’ve used this lens to take pictures of flying birds in the distance with great results.
Excellent lens

Excellent lens for hiking and skiing photo for amateurs. I have much heavier and more fast lens, but this one is not replaceable if you want to combine hiking, skiing and shooting photo.
Don’t let the price fool you

This lens is a gem for the price. It is tack sharp end to end. It is by no means a pro type lens in the area of build quality but it isn’t by any means a piece of junk. It’s just that it’s made of top grade plastic. I just love this lens and picture quality is absolutely top notch.
