A no brainer

Great effects and fun to use when you want to shoot manual and black and white
Fun to use
By Giovanni Rated 4 out of 5 Date: 2022-12-10
I’ve only recently taken up photography and I bought this lens since it was so inexpensive. I’ve taken it on a few hikes as well as on a weekend trip to Joshua Tree. I was able to capture a lot of photos that I really liked. The only reason I’ve taken off a star is that during my Joshua tree trip, I would set my focus and noticed as I was taking photos that I was inadvertently moving the focus ring. This probably isn’t much of an issue but I did miss a couple shots because I only noticed the focus change after.
Basic and simple

Simple lens, quality feel.
TTArtisan 50mm f2 Z

This lens is FUN! I didn’t buy this expecting to get the best images in the world, I have other lenses for that. This is for fun in an ultra compact size for cheap. And honestly, I didn’t expect it to be this good. The build quality and feel on the rings is very pleasant, the bokeh is absolutely beautiful wide open and plenty sharp, and surprisingly sharp edge to edge at f8 for landscape or cityscapes. I can confidently throw this on a small z body while walking around or traveling and have a blast.
Fun and cheap

Fun lens, very sharp for the price, also really tiny, almost a pancake.. heavy vignette and some color shift at the corners, but its fun, portable, cheap, and sharp. In terms of bang for your buck it’s pretty good.
almost like a pancake lens..

I have to say that when you already have a ttartisan 50mm 1.2 in the bag, this made me think a bit, but in vain. now I just have to think carefully about which one I leave in the bag or both. it is on the other hand such a similar yet such a different lens. but for comparison, this f2 lens is really small and fits well with my xt4 camera to shoot different situations .
Great Build, But Too Much Distortion
By John Rated 3 out of 5 Date: 2023-01-23
Very nicely built little lens with smooth focus. Would be even better with a focus tab. Unfortunately, the distortion was very evident in my test shots. Take a look at the edges of these shutters.
Great for Lowlight

Perfect lens for subject photography. Also great for low light photos with the Aperture of 2.0. It feels nice and sturdy even though it is very small.
