Compact, lightweight, and versatile, the NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR, from Nikon, is an all-in-one zoom spanning a wide-angle to telephoto range. Poised to be a single lens solution for travel, walkaround, and everyday shooting, this 27-210mm-equivalent lens is ideal for applications ranging from landscapes to portraiture to distant, fast-moving subjects.
Helping achieve sharp results and steady handling, Vibration Reduction image stabilization compensates for up to 5 stops of camera shake for improved results when working in low-light conditions. A stepping motor provides quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance, along with full-time manual focus override, and there is a 7.9″ minimum focusing distance for working with close-up subjects. Also, a programmable control ring can be set for intuitive adjustment over a variety of camera and exposure settings.
All-in-one zoom is designed for DX-format Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 27-210mm equivalent focal length range. Stepping motor delivers impressively smooth, quiet, and fast autofocus performance that is well-suited to both stills and video applications. Minimum focusing distance of 7.9″ at the wide-angle position suits working with close-up subjects. Vibration Reduction image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake by up to 5 stops for sharper handheld shooting. I used my old F lens temporarily on my new Z50 with the FTZ adapter. Finally had the extra cash to get the Z lens. First off looked sharper in the view finder. Ready to travel a lot lighter now.

Its just right. Perfect balance and zoom range for the z50. Love it for skiing and light and fast photography. Just like the rest of the z lens its nice and sharp. Tried a 24-200 with the z50 but it just wast what I was looking for and goes to f6.3 too soon. So far it has been a perfect lens for the z50.

All their lenses come with lens hoods, EXCEPT this one. You have to buy it separately. REALLY NIKON !!!!!!!!!
Nice Kit Addition for Z50

After purchasing a Z50 with a 16-50 mm kit lens, I wanted to get a lens that could cover a broader range for travel, but still keep the overall kit lightweight. This is it. I used it on a recent trip with my newly acquired Z50, and had very nice results. Images are crisp, and the lens handles beautifully on the Z50. The combination of the body and lens is still less than 2 lbs, and it can be easily thrown into a small pack for hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities. It’s also very well built, just like the camera. The Z-mount on this particular lens is plastic, which I think is the way all of the DX Z-mount lenses are made, but it’s a solid, reliable mount and is weather-sealed.

Good lens, wish it went to 16 mm!

This lens is sharp enough, is well-sized to go with the Z50, for which it’s a good one-lens or travel solution. For my style of shooting, I really wish it would go to a 24mm equivalent, i.e. 16mm on the wide end. I’d happily trade off some of the tele range. I realize that might make it a larger and more expensive lens, but that would be my druthers. But a 27-210 equivalent is still a reasonable compromise for the Z crop-sensor cameras.
One sharp lens for (almost) all cases…

Our Z50 is my wife’s favorite camera. And she does not like to change lenses, so I was forced to do it for her. This Nikkor solves my little issue. Astonishingly its performance is a pleasant surprise to me. Like all Z-lenses, it is very sharp, quiet and fast focusing. I think that it is difficult to find another so sharp lens in this price class. Personally I would prefer zoom range 16-100 for example, a bit wider, but for most cases the 18mm on the wide end works fine. Highly recommended.
