Really Right Stuff TA-2U-LC Overview
Get on level with the TA-2U Leveling Base with Lever-Release Clamp from Really Right Stuff.This base is compatible with series 2 tripods and installs on tripods with 3/8″-16 male and female threads. The leveler, which has a built-in bubble level, has 40 of adjustment, and it levels out your tripod on uneven ground or on terrain with steep angles without the need of adjusting the legs. The Arca-type clamp with lever release comes pre-installed, and it accepts Really Right Stuff plates and L-brackets as well as other third-party brands. The leveler can support a load capacity of 25 lb, and it locks at the required angle with ease by turning the triple-lobe locking mechanism.

This is a great ball head it is very sturdy. When I received it I had an issue with it being unstable I had to disassemble it to tighten a set screw on the base.

Really Nice Stuff! Really Expensive Stuff! I use this with my Gitzo Tripod. I added DVTL-40 Round dovetail plates to my Ballhead and Gimbal Head . Changing heads is much easier and I no longer try to use the wrong head because Im lazy!
Solid base with great range

Fits right in my 2 series legs. The hook transfers over etc. I will say that this makes the bh40 look quite small. I should have gotten the bh55, as there isnt much point in saving weight. This setup is pretty chunky, but rock solid.
First Class Panning Clamp !

If you have anything from Really Right Stuff you’re aware of the quality of their products and this clamp is no different. Superbly built and super smooth. The three tab locking mechanism makes it really convenient to level using the built in bubble level and just a little pressure locks everything down. It’s a great addition to my TVC-24 tripod. It works great with their pano clamp or a gimble head. This base, like all their products, is top of the line. Yes, it’s a little more than the competition, but you won’t be disappointed. It’s likely your kids will be using it decades from now.
